When a high-tech top secret advanced weapon system helicopter, developed by the CIA is stolen by its creator Dr. Charles Henry Moffet (David Hemmings), the mysterious deputy director of the agency, Archangel (Alex Cord), enlists the help of the reclusive Vietnam veteran Stringfellow Hawke (Jan-Michael Vincent) a former test pilot during the development of Airwolf. Hawke agrees but on one condition, to find his brother who's been missing in action since the Vietnam war.
Hawke and his late father's best friend Dominic Santini (Ernest Borgnine) goes on a deadly mission which takes them to the Middle East, in an attempt to recover Airwolf where they come face to face with the enemy in a dirty battle to repossess the deadliest aerial weapon ever made.

Airwolf is an advanced attack-helicopter with the most dangerous weapon systems. Hawke is a brilliant combat pilot and reckless since his brother's disappearence and he, together with his friend Dominic Santini make a formidable team, as they go up against dangerous agents and an African dictator who has his owned trained helicopter army.

A major nuclear accident in a Soviet Power Plant has unleashed a cloud of deadly radioactive dust. As the crisis worsening, threatening the lives of thousands, Soviet authorities reluctantly turn to the United States for help. It's a job for Airwolf, the most advanced attach-helicopter in the world flown by Hawke's brother St, John (Barry Van Dyke) who's been missing in MIA, now recovered. Together with the rest of the team, they set up on a dangerous mission that must not fail for the sake of mankind. But as tension and mistrust grows between East and West, disaster looms.
