When Hawke and Dom took back Airwolf from Moffet, Hawke knew that the Firm wouldn't keep their promise about finding St, John, so he needed a place to hide Airwolf. "Just what i'm looking for, a place to get lost" Dom was the one who discovered this place during a job. The Lair is referred as "The Valley of the Gods". and it's know for its unique and mystique look. In S4 the Lair changed drastically, with more high-tech equipment, computers and radars. It also contained a grid over the top entrance.

The Lair in real life is located in Monument Valley (Navajo: Tsé Biiʼ Ndzisgaii, meaning valley of the rocks) and is located in Utah, looking south on U.S. Route 163 from 13 miles (21 km) north of the Arizona–Utah border.

Monument Valley experiences a desert climate with cold winters and hot summers.

• The entrance to the lair is located at the Hidden Bridge straight across Moccasin Arch.

• The chimney AW hovers out of is located at Thunderbird Mesa.

• When AW seeing leaving the lair at a distance before passing the camera, and the driving towards the lair is located near West Mitten Butte.
